Motion Design for TV : El Pitch

Motion design for TV: Dynamic visuals that bring innovation to life!

Project Overview: Bringing Motion Design to Broadcast TV

El Pitch is a startup pitch competition broadcast on El Hiwar TV, produced by THD.tn. Startups pitch to a panel of judges live on stage.

I designed and animated the video content shown on the stage screens throughout the competition, built around the show’s own visual theme: clean, modern motion graphics that ran behind and alongside the contestants without competing with them.

Responsibilities

Motion Design Content for Stage Screens

Motion graphics for the stage screens: theme-matched intros, transitions between pitches, and background visuals timed to the live show.

Contestant Introduction Videos

For each startup, I directed and edited a green-screen intro video, then layered in motion graphics to call out the key details of their pitch.

Technical Support for Jury App Backend

I also handled backend support for the app the jury used to score contestants live, keeping it running through the broadcast.

Solving Creative and Technical Challenges

Live TV has no room for slippage. Two constraints shaped the work:

  • Tight deadlines : animated content had to be ready on the production’s schedule, not mine.
  • Sync : visuals had to line up exactly with stage screens and contestant cues, live, with no retakes.

Impact of motion design and Results

What the motion design and video work delivered:

  • Visual appeal : animations matched the show’s branding and theme rather than sitting on top of it.
  • Viewer clarity : intro videos communicated each startup’s pitch quickly and clearly.
  • Production reliability : the jury app ran without incident through the live broadcast.

See the Motion design in Action

This project combined motion design, video editing, and technical support inside one live broadcast. Three different disciplines that had to work together in real time, on someone else’s schedule.
